Water Disruption issue at Lorong Zoo, Air Itam Resolved

Together with my service team member, I distributed this circular to over 100 affected residential unit at Lorong Zoo 2, Air Itam.

The response on the ground was positive.
Later of the night, I received 3 thank-you calls from my voters.

Water Disruption At Lorong Zoo - Solved

I have received complaints from the residents of Lorong Zoo, Air Itam that the water supply was disrupted a few times in mid May 2008.

I have visited Lorong Zoo 2 and spoken to the PBA Engineer on site. It was related to leakage of underground water pipe at Lorong Zoo 2. I told PBA that I don’t want a piecemeal solution, I want a permanent solution to avoid all this unscheduled water disruption.

PBA has since approved a RM 15,000.00 allocation to replace the old pipe to a new HDPE 75mm pipe for the whole Lorong Zoo 2.

You will notice the newly tar mark at Lorong Zoo 2 as a result of changing of the new pipe.

动物园路水管破裂已获解决 (Lorong Zoo 2)

本人接获动物园路居民投诉当地在今年5月中旬已经几次无缘无辜的缺水. 本人连同槟州水务局工程师前往该地巡视, 发现到原来是动物园2路地下水管破裂而导致当地数次缺水.

本人也告诉槟州水务局官员, 我们要得是一劳永逸的解决方法, 而不是暂时的止血方案, 只有这样这里的居民才可住的安心.

槟州水务局最终同意拨出15,000马币以作为更换当地地下水管用途. 动物园2路已在5月尾换上新的HDPE 75毫米水管.

您将会看到马路上有新铺柏油路的痕迹, 这就证明该地已经更换了新的水管.
